1.    Unpack carefully and inspect for possible damage in transit. See parts list & sketch below.

2. Measure comes assembled. Mount securely to #359 Channel or #201 Stand (either is available from Series 4 Ltd) using the 2 each #45 Screws and #310 Nuts. Deflection of the Measurer's side plates caused by incorrect mounting may result in bearing friction and measuring errors. Protect 
Measurer from blows or falling objects. Arrange so material to be measured enters and exits Measurer In a straight. horizontal line tangent to it's measuring wheel. This optimum arrangement is possible when a complete Olympic SET, Including payout & take up reels, is used. If wire enters at
odd angles it is desirable to first run it through an external guide, such as the #1470 swiveling Roller Guide Mounted to Measurer, or #40 Guide installed 6" (150 mm) from measurer's entrance tube.

3. After attaching Measurer to its mount, depress roller handle and rotate measuring Wheel in both directions. The Wheel and Counter should spin freely. If not, examine pin-and-slot coupling between Wheel shaft and Counter. This should not bind.  Pin should have some backlash in slot.  If necessary, the Counter position on the bracket can slightly adjusted laterally by loosening the four 5-40 screws. If Wheel and Counter still fail to rotate freely, contact Series 4 for advice.

4. If -8 Cutter was purchased, install Knife Assembly between guard plates of cutter frame, insert #825 Pivot Pin and secure with Cotter Pin. If blade must be sharpened, hand hone only,
CAUTION: Do not cut fine, bare wire or BX armored  cable with cutter.

5. Measurer is labeled with instructions regarding use, and recommend materials which may be measured. Keep measuring wheel clean; any buildup on the surface (or grooving) alters the critical diameter. affecting accuracy.

WARRANTY: Measurer is warranted against defects In material or workmanship for one year from date of purchase.
