SERIES 4 LTD STATEMENT ON REACH REGISTRATION

The European Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 regarding the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) came in to force on the 1^st June 2007.

We are aware that REACH will affect all industries to some degree and that manufacturers and importers will now have a duty to register chemicals and/or preparations before the crucial registration date.  We are ensuring that we have the appropriate knowledge and understanding to assess our duties responsibly and to advise our customers accurately with regards to the status of all products we supply in relation to the REACH Regulation.

We are a downstream user and the goods delivered by us to your company are not chemicals, substances or preparations but articles given form during the production process and this influences the function to a greater level than the chemical composition. These articles do not emit any substances in normal use and also do not contain any hazardous substances above the allowed limits. Due to this no obligation regarding registration is relevant to Series 4.

Series 4 is currently in contact with all upstream suppliers to ensure that they are undertaking similar investigations and asking them in turn to confirm the same with any of their suppliers involved in the supply of preparations used in the manufacture of their articles.  We are also liaising with our upstream suppliers with regards to our in-house assembled equipment to ensure that they too are following these pre-registration guidelines both directly and again with their suppliers.

Having compiled our product inventory we can confirm that we also import articles from outside the EU. We are currently in communication with these suppliers at the with regards to raising their awareness of REACH and seeking their written confirmation that none of the substances deemed as SVHC are contained within the articles supplied to us above the 0.1% concentration level. We expect this process to be complete in the near future.
